Dear Client,
Thank you for choosing our services for your Tinted lips or Dark lip neutralization procedure. Proper aftercare is essential for ensuring optimal results and the longevity of your new look. Please follow the instructions below carefully:
1. Avoid Touching:
- Keep your lips and the surrounding area as clean as possible to prevent infection.
- Do not touch, pick, or scratch your lips. Touching can introduce bacteria and cause complications.
2. Keep Lips Clean:
- Gently clean your lips with a damp cloth or cotton pad moistened with sterile water if needed to remove lymph.
- Avoid using any harsh soaps, cleansers, or exfoliants on your lips.
3. Moisturize:
- Apply the provided ointment or a thin layer of a recommended aftercare product (like petroleum jelly or a healing balm) regularly to keep your lips moisturized.
- Do not over-apply; a small amount is sufficient to keep the area hydrated.
4. Avoid Certain Products and Activities:
- Refrain from using makeup, medicated lip balms from a pharmacy, or any other products on your lips, unless specified by your technician.
- Avoid swimming, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive sweating for at least 10 days after the procedure.
- Steer clear of spicy, salty, or food and drinks that can irritate your lips.
5. Sun Protection:
- Protect your lips from direct sun exposure. Use a lip balm with SPF once healing progresses and it is safe to apply, after two weeks.
- Wearing a hat with a brim can provide additional protection.
6. No Smoking or Alcohol:
- Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol, as these can impede the healing process.
7. Pain and Swelling Management:
- Use a cold compress to reduce swelling if needed. Apply it gently and not directly on the lips.
- Pain and swelling are normal in the first few days. If you experience excessive discomfort, consult with a healthcare professional.
8. Healing Process:
- Expect the colour to be more intense initially, but it will soften as the lips heal. In some cases, after day 5 lips can appear temporarily patchy, in some areas darker, or lighter, and it may take two months for colour stabilization.
- The healing process typically takes around 7-10 days for the surface and up to 10 weeks for the full colour to stabilize.
9. Follow-Up Appointment:
- Schedule a follow-up appointment in 10 weeks as recommended to assess healing and make any necessary adjustments.
10. Note Any Issues:
- If you experience signs of infection (such as increased redness, lip sore, swelling, pus, or severe pain), contact your healthcare professional immediately.
Following these aftercare instructions diligently will help ensure beautiful and lasting results. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Warm regards,
Fabulash Brows & Aesthetics
